SUMMER HAS
FINALLY ARRIVED!!! For the past couple weeks, it has been extremely hot here in
southern California, and it is the perfect weather to bust out those short
shorts, mini skirts, and summer dresses. However, this can also be the
beginning of a long nightmare for many girls because they now have to shave
those unwanted hair on their legs almost everyday, just to keep them silky
smooth. Luckily, for me, Influenster has decided to treat me to a silky smooth
legs summer.
2 weeks ago, I have received my May Wax Product from
Influenster, and inside is the Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit. I was very
excited when I got this box because I always find shaving to be super tedious,
and on top of that, I have to do it every 2-3 days, or else my legs would get
super prickly. I have considered going to a salon and get some waxing done, but
that can also be expensive in the long run. So, thank you Influenster for
sending me this product!! I couldn’t wait to try it out!!
This is what the box looks like when it came in the mail, and immediately I can tell this product is from Veet. It has a Veet sticker on the box, with the quote “Bare More Beautiful”. The size of this box is just as big as my February Sweetheart VoxBox, despite the fact that it only has one product inside and the Sweetheart VoxBox has 4.
When I opened
this box, I was very surprised that Influenster has taken the extra step of
bubble-wrapping the product before sending the boxes out. I really appreciate
of what they have done, and it definitely shows that they care about their
members. Kudos to you guys!!!
The box has two
items inside: a congratulations card and the Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On
Kit. On the congratulations card, it says, “Congratulations, your Veet EasyWax
Electrical Roll-On Kit has arrived! Say goodbye to shaving nicks & cuts!
Inside this box, you’ll find everything you need to heat up, roll on, and wax
off hair for smoothness that lasts up to 28 days without even leaving the
house. The Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit achieves salon quality results
for flawless, silky smooth skin.” After reading that, I got even more excited!
28 days?!? If this is really true, the product might just make me the happiest
girl this summer!!
The Veet EasyWax
Electrical Roll-On Kit includes: 1 electrical warmer with base, 1 legs and body
roll-on refill (wax cartridge), 24 hair removal strips, 4 perfect finish wipes,
a instruction leaflet, and an electrical cable. Each wax cartridge can be used
for up to 4 sessions, depending on how much wax you use each time. According to
the front of the box, this product is supposed to provide “salon quality silky
smooth results at a fraction of the price.”
There are 2 main
perks about this product:
1) It can keep
the wax at the right temperature throughout the entire waxing session. This way
the wax won’t cool down and hardens in the middle of the process, and the user
doesn’t have to keep reheating the wax.
2) It also
ensures clean and even application.
On the back of
the box, it says that the product works on hair as short as 1/16 in., and it
can give me smooth skin for up to four weeks. The wax has shea butter as one of
the ingredients, and it can leave my skin soft and smooth. Lastly, it also says
that with regular use, I will get fewer, finer, and softer hair growing back.
After reading all these, I seriously think that this product sounds too good to
be true haha ^_^
So what do I
think about the product after trying it out??
I followed the
instructions provided in the instruction leaflet, and waxed both of my legs
(from knees to ankles). Afterward, I sort of have mixed feelings about this
product.
First, the good
part. I really like this kit because it is, like it said on the box, simple and
easy to use. The actual waxing process was pretty quick, and my skin does feel
softer afterward. The temperature of the wax was definitely one of my biggest
worries before application, but I soon found out that the wax wasn’t too hot,
and was perfect for my skin. The wax also kept its temperature throughout the
entire session, and I was definitely happy about that. The waxing strips are
reusable during the same session, and even though it recommends using 3 strips per
session (for both legs), I ended up using 4 instead because this is my first
time. The perfect finish wipe was also very useful, and it removed all the wax
residue on my legs almost immediately after one wipe.
Now to the bad
part. This kit was actually quite messy. Although the waxing strips are
reusable, after several uses, it seems that the strips aren’t thick enough and
some wax starts leaking to its surface as I was pressing down the strips. Thus
causing the wax to get on my hands and everything else I touched, including the
electrical warmer. I think if the strips are meant to be used for several
times, Veet should provide thicker strips, and make this product truly
mess-free. Another thing I didn’t like about this kit is that it didn’t quite
get all the hair off of my legs. After going through all the pain and mess, I
still couldn’t get a 100% smooth legs?? That is just a bit disappointing. The
wax got about 85-90% of my hair, and I had to shave the rest of them off
afterward. The even sadder part is that the leftover hair aren’t even short.
They were all within the waxing length, and I was surprised when I saw the
result. Lastly, in the instruction leaflet, it says that the wax only needed to
be heated for 30 minutes before use. In reality, this is not even close. For
me, it took about 50 minutes just to have the wax applicable, and it almost
took 75 minutes to have the wax run in perfect consistency. That is just wayyy
too long, especially when compared with shaving where it only takes me 5 minutes
max.
Overall, I think
I would rate the Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit a 7/10. With this kit
costing $34.26-$39.99, I believe it is very reasonable, since it does cost
around that price just to get your legs waxed once in a salon. However, I am
really not sure whether I will keep purchasing the strips and wax refills,
which costs around $10, once I am done with the ones I have. I am happy with
the results that I got from this kit, even though I didn’t get 100% hairless
legs. I will definitely use it more often if the whole process isn’t as time
consuming. Although there are several things that I am not quite satisfy with
the Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit, I will still recommend this to my
friends and family because it does keep my legs smooth and hairless for at
least 3 weeks, and that is definitely way better than having to shave every 2-3
